The Locked Screen

A locked screen shows nothing to people who are not holding the phone. This page explains how we keep what you write behind one.

What we keep

  • Your saved number: your email, a one-way encoding of the password, first name, birthday, gender, and whatever you put on your own page.
  • Your threads and each sender’s notes about you, so she can remember.
  • Two cookies: a session cookie and a second noting your adult confirmation.
  • The record of each payment, which is an amount and a transfer ID. Cards are not accepted, so they never come near us.
  • Ordinary server logs, held briefly for security.

What we use it for

All of it serves running the chat, upholding the rules and keeping the inbox open. Messages go through a model we run ourselves or a supplier under matching terms, with a safety scan alongside. Chats are never sold, and advertisers are never shown any.

Counting visitors

One basic counter records visit numbers and regions. It has no access to your threads.

What you control

Each chat has a menu where you can revise her notes, store a copy or remove the thread. To wipe the entire account, write to the desk using the account’s own address. Should your local law be more generous, tell us and we will follow it.
